Kayla Mueller had accompanied her boyfriend photographer and activist, Omar Alkhani, into Syria despite her boyfriend trying to convince her not to come with him. Unfortunately they were both abducted during that trip, Alkhani however was released. He tried to have her released by telling her captors that she was her wife but for some reason Mueller did not go along with the lie. On February tenth her family received confirmation of her death.
It seems that middle eastern countered are getting more and more dangerous for people to travel around in. It seems almost every other day we hear a story about militants abducting and killing people. I wish we knew why they were doing this so that it could be easier to take steps to stop that from happening.
