Got any cash, take a look, kind of looks all the same, doesn’t it? That’s because only a select gender and ethnicity is represented on the currency of a country who calls its self a “melting pot”. In 2016 it was proposed that the 20$ should be replaced with a more fitting and deserving figure, other than the alcoholic, Andrew Jackson. Tubman seemed fitting, and after thousands of requests by people in power and the public, it was decided that she would be represented. The original printing date was supposed to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the passing of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote. Just recently it has been announced by Treasury Secretary, Steve Mnuchin, that the date has been pushed back 8 years due to lack of enthusiasm by President Trump. Trump quotes on this matter calling it “pure political correctness”, of corse to be taken not by women and people of color as anything to do with “political correctness, but yet equal representation. Throughout American history women, especially of color, have been pushed quite literally to the back. Even after the civil rights movement of the 50’s and 60’s, rights have been granted, but equality has not.

Well, Ex best friend Tati exposed James in a recent video titled "Goodbye Sister' by revealing some of his dirty secrets due to him partnering with Sugar bear. Sugar bear is Halo's ( Tati's brand) biggest competitor, In the video, Tati mentions the way James has forced himself towards straight men, him being manipulative, immature and not knowing how to "grow up."

A new SAT Adversity index has already been used in 50 colleges around the country, and by 2020, SAT is hoping for a full sweep of America. The index will take into account the wealth, crime rate, and other socioeconomic factors of the child’s high school. More personal factors will also be taken into account, such as 1/2 parent household, death of a guardian, traumatic events, median family income, and other factors. The score will be determined out of 100 with a formula, and taken into account for the SAT score.
Advocates hope this will replace the already used Affirmative Action standards which has been criticized for using “racial quotas” in school. Some say it will give collages a broader sense of a child’s potential, and help not affect the already affluent children apart of the American Bourgeois. This has already helped expose the overwhelming amount of black and latinx student who score significantly higher on the index than those of Anglo decent. Due to years of systematic oppression, even after desegregation. De Facto segregation still is in place today, with many smart kids not able to receive the equal opportunities as others of different economic, or domestic backgrounds.

Sex Education has been being taught in schools for decades. Sex Education is the instruction of issues relating to sexuality, including emotionally and physically, It is to have knowledge of the responsibilities, the sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, etc. In a Colorado public school, a student stated that his teachers example of sex was repeatedly rolling tape until it lost its stickiness. The student shared the lesson he had been taught by saying,“People are like tape and once they have sex they’re dirty and can’t have meaningful relationships." Because of this Colorado passed a Sex Education Bill.

The Chick-Fil-A bill -Paola Aceves
A new bill in texas is being proposed called, known by supporters as the “Save Chick-Fil-A Bill”. The bill itself is said to support religious freedom, but LGBTQ advocates believe it could be used for anti LGBT actions. The bill was proposed as a response to San Antonio’s city council banning Chick-Fil-A from their airport due to the history of supporting anti-LGBT organizations. The bill is aiming to block government entities from taking action against individuals or businesses based on their religious affiliation.
While this does sound good in theory, it could also harm the LGBT community because of religious views on homosexuality. The LGBT community has been fighting for rights for a very long time and should not get those rights taken away.

They even threatened to hack more data if the city didn’t pay. The deadline has passed and Baltimore still hasn’t paid. Fortunately Emergency services like 911 hasn’t been impacted. The hackers used a ransomware called RobbinHood which blocks access to servers. There is a digital key to unlock it and if they get their money, they will give Baltimore the Key.
Analysis: Our world has become really crazy. I believe in the future as we become more digital, problems like this will become more problem. On the brighter side of things, it’s not as deadly as a real hostage situation, but it is still very bad. Thankfully 911 still works cause otherwise the city would be a disaster. The purpose of this article was solely to bring attention to this massive issue and the audience was to the general public. I can relate this to WW2. Teacher yearbook photos spark controversy- Paige Bowman
At San Pasqual High School in Escondido California, multiple teachers sparked national controversy after posing in mustaches and sombreros to depict Spanish speaking people. While some parents took it to the offense, some were indifferent. The teachers released a statement apologizing and saying that they welcome all types of students and they will think more carefully in the future.
Arizona prisons ban book about the criminal justice system and black men- Paige Bowman
In Arizona prisons, a certain book isn't very welcome. "Chokehold: Policing Black Men" was written by Georgetown law professor and federal prosecutor Paul Butler. It talks about the connection between the justice system and black men. The Arizona Department of Corrections banned the book, and although it is allowed to prevent incarcerated people to read any book of their choosing, many are calling it unconstitutional. It's being considered that way because it's against the First Amendment to censor a book that would help incarcerated inmates understand how legal, penal, and other institutions shape their lives. Arizona is being called to put the book back on the shelves, as well as other books they've banned other the years.

In its strive to cajole Iran into cooperation/elimination/submission, the Trump administration has in the last several weeks applied a TON of force. We blocked the country’s last avenues for selling oil, classified the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a terrorist organization and deployed ships and bombers to the Persian Gulf. However, despite all the new pressure, we’ve recently had no victories or effect on the current state of things. It has only turned Iran’s current state regarding possible negotiations from patience to confrontation. An P. Trump isn’t helping the matter at all, tweeting out attacks on Iran, eventually provoking a response from Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who shot back, “Try respect. It works.”

Nancy Pelosi went to the White House on Wednesday knowing full well that a planned presidential ambush awaited. Prez Trump was not “serious,” and needed a way out of negotiations over a $2 trillion infrastructure plan that he could not pay for. However, P. Trump’s going off in the white house garden earlier led to a played down topic: impeachment. The only thing proven by Trump’s outburst is that he is willing to sacrifice his legit policy-based agenda to keep “presidential harrassement” in the spotlight. However, talk of a legitimate impeachment is VERY real, as Pelosi stated “We do believe that it’s important to follow the facts. We believe that no one is above the law, including the president of the United States, and we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up.” The cover-up quip is what caused P. Trump to explode.

President Trump abruptly blew up a meeting with Democratic congressinal leaders on Wednesday, dramatically stating that he could NOT work with them until they stopped investigating him and then lashed out at Nancy Pelosi for accusing him of a cover-up. He then marched out into the Rose Garden, where reporters had been just chilling, and stated (clearly shaking (metaphorically) with anger) as he demanded that Democrats “get these phony investigations over with.” This outburst happened on a day where democrats were talking about a possible impeachment, and all of them pressed Pelosi into (possibly(?)) opening a formal inquiry regarding whether Prez Trump should be removed from office or not. He also said that he was “the most transparent president in the history of the United States.” I started cackling when I watched him say that.

Last week, a billionaire pledged to pay for all the tuitions of students at Moorehouse University. The grant was completely unexpected and kind of out of the blue, as the campus president did not even knowit was coming. However, this issue poses numerous numbers of issues and prompts a ton of logistical difficulties. How will the grants work? What students will be eligible? And students who had to leave due to fiscal difficulties will NOT have their debts paid for, prompting some guilty feelings for some graduates.
Honestly, I just thought this reminded me of Scott’s Tots. We shall soon see whether he pulls a Michael Scott or whether this dream will become a reality.

New York lawmakers gave their final approval to a bill that would make it extremely possible for Congress to obtain President Trump’s state tax returns, creating another element in the general kerfuffle regarding the president’s refusal to release his taxes. The bill taht will go into place will (tentatively probably) be signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a third-term Democrat and regular cynicist of Prez Trump’s behavior and policies. It will authorize state tax officials to release the president’s state returns to any one of the three congressional committees. Prez Trump said that he is willing to take the fight over his federal tax returns to the Supreme Court, and it seems likely that he actually would honestly based on the current/past state of things and the tensions regarding this.

A federal grand jury in Manhattan indicted celebrity attorney Michael Avenatti, charging him with fraud and aggravated identity theft. One is from former client Stormy Daniels, and the other is due to attempting to extort more than $20 million from Nike. Avenatti was charged with with stealing about $300,000 from Stormy from the advance for her book contract, and using that money to pay employees of his law firm and an coffee business he owned. Apparently he has paid back less than half of the money he owe(s/d) her. And the Nike thing has to do with Avenatti extorting employees due to alleged misconduct on the eve of both the company's quarterly earnings call and the start of the NCAA tournament. Prosecutors in Los Angeles charged him with wire and bank fraud, and he has since been indicted on 36 DIFFERENT counts in that case.
Oregon State Student Dies From Falling During a Selfie- Paige Bowman
On Sunday, a student from Oregon State died after falling approximately 100 feet. 21-year-old Michelle Casey was seriously injured when she slipped and fell while taking pictures Neahkahnie Mountain, near Highway 101. Caseys boyfriend says she landed in a tree, which prevented her from falling into the Pacific Ocean. paramedics arrived on the scene at 10:51 AM. It took two hours to remove her from the tree. She was then flown to a Portland hospital, where she passed due to the injuries sustained during her fall. She had chosen to be an organ donor, and that choice saved two lives. She was studying kinesiology, and will always be known by her friends and family as a hero for donating her organs.

In the US, history has been made. Washington became the first state to legalize using dead bodies as compost. The bill was passed earlier this week by bill sponsor Sen. Jamie Pederson, who refers to it as an "environmentally friendly way of disposing of human remains. How it works is that they cover a body in wood chips or straw, and it helps accelerate the process using microbial activity. After about 5-7 weeks, the family receives the soil, and from there its up to the family how it should be used. it's also a cheaper option, cutting the burial bill from around $10,000 to $5,500. I think that in the future, this is going to be a very big alternative because its healthy for the planet.

queen Elizabeth took part in sainsburys 150th birthday celebration and learned about the self service checkouts. staff showed her how to use it so she didn't have to go about the task herself. the queen had some laughs and giggles asking if it was a even possible to cheat the machine. during her visit she met the two original founders of the store.

An Italian man was very angry when his flight landed in the city of Bari instead of the island on Sardinia. the man class it was the crews job to stop him from boarding the wrong place to his incorrect destination at the gate. the man said he only noticed that he was on the wrong flight when they started landing in the city of Bari. its very unclear how this incident happened but it is most likely the passengers fault.

around 259 people have died worldwide by taking selfies which is shown by a study that was published in the journal of family medicine and primary care. The found that most of the incidents occur in India then Russia, the United States, and Pakistan and most of these victims were men under the age of 30 years old. drowning is one of the major causes of selfie deaths because people are often washed away by a wave or fall of a boat. a child who was only a few months old died within a day care van on Wednesday in Florida. the information that was found shows she was in the van from 8 am to around 1 pm the the call was made. temperatures were as high as 92 degrees when she was left in the car. the van picks up children in the morning and its the workers job to make sure that he/she takes out all the children. the center cares for around 14 children and non of the others were injured. around 38 children die each year from the cause of being left in a hot car. `

In the news today, a moment like no other has happened. Queen Elizabeth, the ruler of England, learned to use self-checkout for the very first time today. The Queen, who is 93 years young, visited Sainsbury's earlier today. Abortions Becoming Illegal - Marianita Montalvo
Recently I'm pretty sure everybody has seen how abortions have became illegal in the state of Alabama. This has caused so much counter argument with a lot of people whether they think, it is right or not to make abortions illegal or not. in my personal opinion i don't think a group of male representatives should be making the decision of what a women should be able to do with her body. its getting worse by the minute because in my opinion other states are building off of this decision made with other things such as making birth control illegal, saying that during sexual intercourse once you give consent you cannot withdrawal your consent. these laws were made back when the Roe v Wade supreme court decision was being made and other revolutionary women movements during the time. To me this seems like a clear example that we as people are backtracking, its 2019 and every year is suppose to be about growth and this isn't growth. This also sounds like related event that happened before in our history when the united states has had prohibition, when alcohol was illegal and not to much later they made an amendment to bring it back. Most likely because it beneficial for them, the men,but abortions are not they are just "unnatural' and "gods choice."

Dallas police investigate "similarities" in crimes against 3 transgender women- Maya Friedmann
Dallas police are investigating whether or not the death of a transgender woman could be connected to the death of another murder and assault in which both victims were transgender women. Dallas police major VIncent Weddington states that the deaths and assault have similarities but that there is not definitive links between them. All three victims of these crimes were in the same intersection in East Dallas prior to the crime. Police are still trying to find out who did it and the motive.
The crimes against these women were most likely out of hate, and I am ashamed that something like that would happen in Dallas. These events show how hard it really is for transgender women, and how much hate they face everyday. Things have definitely been getting better for the LGBT community, but things like this should never happen.
Transgender woman dies after being a victim of mob attack-Anna Speer
On April 12th Muhlaysia Booker was attacked by a group of men who punched and stomped on Booker after she was involved in a minor accident in the parking lot of an east Oak Cliff apartment complex. Not only was the attack captured on video, but her attackers yelled homophobic slurs during the beating, leaving her with a broken wrist and concussion. While other attackers weren't found Edward Thomas was arrested two days after the attack. Weeks after the beating, Booker was fatally shot and killed. Regarding her attacker, Edward Thomas, he was charged with aggravated assault in the attack because gender identity is not covered under Texas’s hate crime statute.
Thomas had been released from the Dallas County jail before Saturday. At this time, the department does not know where he is. The state of Texas should take more charge to support the LGBTQ community because this is only one of many fatal attacks. They deserve justice and to be treated like any other civilian. When will the violence end?

Authorities call it "minority identification" which many admit is just a euphemism. According to China, they are profiling the Uighurs for "law enforcement purposes", since the Chinese government classifies them as a "sensitive group of people". CloudWalk is one of the companies behind the technology. SenseTime, another company working on the technology said it was not aware of the profiling, while Megvii said it was creating the program to help in the well-being and safety of individual citizens. The police have put together lists in order to have the facial recognition programs help catch criminals. These include lists of people with mental illnesses, criminal records, past drug usage, or those who had petitioned for the government to change. China is able to do this since their leaders care less about moral consensus of their citizens. Ethnic profiling is commonplace in China, while in other places it would be seen as a morally wrong. The companies behind the technology are pushing to expand this technology overseas, which could put this in the hands of other countries. Experts such as Jonathan Frankle believes this technology could become an "existential threat to democracy."

New York might make it illegal to text while walking - Joziah German
In New York City, pedestrians could be fined for looking down at their phones while crossing the road. Especially in a busy city, crossing the street in Manhattan is challenging at all hours of the day. Now it could be illegal to look at a mobile device. A bill in the NY state Senate seeks to ban the use of devices crossing the street with fines ranging from $25 to $250 dollars. The only exception would be for emergencies on this statewide ban. The bill was first introduced a year ago, but last week, State senator John Liu developed a new push for getting this issue forward. He wants New Yorkers to know its O.K. to wait the five seconds. There have been some doubts by the transportation committees, which might stall its ability to become a full vote. Some think this is an overreach of the government. Honolulu has passed a similar law in 2017, sparking some of New York passion to have this bill passed. Also, the number of pedestrians killed in traffic crashes has gotten above 6,000 people. Most of these fatalities occur after dark with alcohol consumption. Although not official, the bill to ban cell phone usage on crossways of streets is making its way through New York State's government.

The most commonly noticed state for recent push of anti-abortion bills has been Alabama. Alabama has passed a bill that calls for doctors performing abortions to be treated as felons potentially serving the same or more time than rapists themselves. Mississippi passed a heartbeat bill, so has Ohio.Georgia, Kentucky, Arkansa, Utah and Iowa have all also passed similar bills. Other states have been pushing to pass bills as well.

Today alone there have been 14 confirmed tornados total in Oklahoma and West Texas, that carry with them fears of flash flooding and danger. More than 50 Million people are at risk of some sort of harm. Most threats include high winds up to 75 mph, large hail, and a possible tornado. There has already been some damage, over 2,000 power outages, multiple trees damaged, etc. In 2013, in this same region, a devastating tornado ended up taking 24 lives with it. There is fear a bad one could strike, as there have been over 50 tornado reports in just three days.
This article is so incredibly important because we, as Booker T. Students, live just on the cusp of the danger. Luckily we are more towards the outer shell of the region of damage, yet if the region moves more south east we could be in serious harm. This is shocking since I was aware of small amounts of flash flooding and tornados near my house, but I didn't realize the magnitude of the damage. I can compare this article to the Dust Bowl, which affected Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, etc. This region of the Great Plains underwent huge amounts of dust and wind because of a drought in 1930 and over cropping in the soil. While I'm not sure if that is the cause of the current problems in this region, it does seem that the great plains is under going more natural disasters, which hopefully do not get as bad or as long as the Dust Bowl. I hope everyone in harm's way stays safe!

I can compare this article to the Dust Bowl, which affected Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, etc. This region of the Great Plains underwent huge amounts of dust and wind because of a drought in 1930 and over cropping in the soil. While I'm not sure if that is the cause of the current problems in this region, it does seem that the great plains is under going more natural disasters, which hopefully do not get as bad or as long as the Dust Bowl. Gunmen killed four Catholics in a religious procession in northern Burkina Faso a day after a priest and five parishioners were murdered at mass, church officials say. The parade with a statue of the Virgin Mary was moving around the town on Monday when a group of terrorists intercepted the procession killing four worshipers and burning the statue. Summary:
In this article a woman named Amanda Furdge informs us about her two different experiences in two different places. Amanda tells us that when she moved to Chicago in 2007 after moving from Jackson and had two unplanned pregnancies she expected the same terminating process as in her hometown Jackson. Jackson was a a place in which women were forced to keep their children and were constantly being chased by people who would try to convince these women of not terminating there pregnancies but Chicago was different. In Chicago women had the option of what to do with their bodies. They would choose to abort their soon to be children or choose not too.Amanda also informs us that she was never really given any sex education from her hometown. They avoided the topic or maid lies up but never taught women anything about their bodies or just sex in general. Amanda also tells us that in the state of Mississippi there was only one actual abortion clinic and you could just walk in anytime you had to have an appointment 24 hours ahead and met certain requirements meaning she didn't have a choice to an abortion or not because Mississippi didn't really have abortion clinics.

In my opinion I believe any woman should have the right to decide what she wants to do with her body. If a woman wants to abort she should get the opportunity to do that but if a woman doesn't want to abort that's totally fine as well. I don't think any man should be allowed to create any law based on a woman's body. Woman should have the choice of doing whatever they want. If a woman doesn't or young girl doesn't feel ready to take care of another little human being its totally okay. Every person had a different opinion and they're both just fine.

State after state laws are sweeping countries with a law making restricting abortions and Alabama near abortion ban. Celebrities all over are fighting against this like Alyssa Milano are protesting this with a sex strike for an example. Conservatives are saying that she went so far left that she ended up on the right with this protest. Protests are happening all over saying abortions should be legal for women and their rights shouldn't be getting taken away. Samuel Rogatinsky, a man in Florida who has a radio station, has decided to air bits and pieces of Trump’s political rally speech every hour until the day of the 2020 Presidential Elections. His intent was to bring attention to the President’s goal to aid the people of Florida who were hurt by Hurricane Michael. He is a democrat but voted for Trump in 2016 elections; the Panhandle of Florida is a primarily red area, so many of the resident were very excited about the news of these broadcasts. The rally was very popular and provided a source of motivation to the people.

My article was about the fact that that in Arkansas Rapists are allowed to try sue women for having abortions because technically 50% is his, but the thing is, if you don't carry the baby and you aren't the one who comes out feeling insecure about your body. You aren't the one having to deliver the baby, and the fact that this woman wasn't even trying to have sex in the first place shows you that if you wanted a baby that bad you should have found somebody who wanted you. Transgender women beaten up in video found dead -Angelia Perez
A transgender woman was found dead in the streets of Dallas not long after a video was recovered where she was being beaten as a hate crime. Muhlaysia Booker, 23, was found face down where people reported hearing gunshots and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Representatives in our government primarily Democrats are mourning her death and Beto said: " Black trans-women deserve better.". Police are still looking for the people who did this and the case is still open.

To about half of you reading this may have completely different issues on what I'm about to say but thats okay, all I ask is that you keep an open mind. So abortion, many people believe this is something that is evil and wrong. "Why would you kill and innocent life?" And I call BULLSH**! I Don't understand how Staes like Alabama Georgia Ohio etc, feel they have a right to dictate what another person does to their body. They claim to be pro life but the second that life enters the world they are silent. A prime example is the foster care system, I wanna see those same "Pro-Life" advocates advocate for those lives. These kids are rarely adopted and when they live in foster homes don't receive the attention that a child needs. The process to foster a kid isn't the slightest exclusive almost anyone can, yet when a family wants to adopt its a whole other story. If a 16 year old girl cannot adopt a child and is deemed irresponsible then why is she being forced to go through with a whole 9 month period of pain, come out with a totally new body, and nw be responsible for another life for the next 18 years. I'm not saying its impossible because it has been done but why Force someone to, why does a woman get the right to say I'm not ready why do women have to be dying in order for them to get an abortion. Prohibiting abortions will not only prove ineffective but lead to greater health problems with women. Why not keep the safe solution? And why does a baby who knows nothing hold more valuable than a woman's life? Forcing women to go through with pregnancies they don't want, could even lead to more child abuse and a greater normalization of that abuse. I got a little off subject but this is a topic I will truly fight till the ends of the earth for. The transmission of this sickness is lower when there is warmer weather, especially going into these summer months. Since some are worried, there have been an increase of vaccines available to patients.

recently, on Thursday the 16th Missouris mostly republican senate passed a bill which banned almost all abortions after the eight week period. they claim that the reasoning for this law is that everyone has a right to life and it will defend the rights of both those born and unborn. Police Chief has been Fired after Incident in D.C - Angelia Perez
Fort Worth police chief Joel Fitzgerald was kicked out earlier this month after the state law-enforcement Associations of Texas found out he joined without being a member of the local union which is required. The people gave him a chance to resign but Fitzgerald did not. Several days later he apparently got in a heated discussion with Sgt. Todd Harrison in Washington D.C. Soon Manny Rameriez who is the president of the Fort Worth Police officers had to step in between the two men on stage where officers were being honored at a banquet.

There was a post on New York Times titled Pregnancy kills. Abortion saves lives. I agree with the statement that the article is making. It discusses the fact that pregnancy is a health risk to all women and many die because of it, and it poses more of a health threat to women than abortions. By banning abortion we jeoperdize the lives of women and take away the rights to their own bodies. There was a story about a woman denied the rights of abortion and she turned to other methods, unhealthy methods, such as coat hanger or otherwise and lost her life. Woman shot and robbed in Buckner Terrace - Angelia Perez
Police are still trying to identify a man who may have shot and robbed a woman. This incident happened around 9:10 a.m around Skyline High School when a vehicle stopped and two men got out, police said. The two people took her property and then shot her and then fled the scene. Unfortunately, this is all police have for this incident.
I just don't get why people have the need to steal stuff people and then later kill them. Like what goes through their mind when they are about to take a life. We live in a broken society unfortunately and we all wish there is something we could do instead of feeling helpless sometimes. SAT’s New ‘Adversity Score’ Will Take Students’ Hardships Into Account -Martina D’Orso
Recently, the College Board decided to implement a new ‘Adversity score’ which basically calculates poverty rates, crime rates, how good their school is, and the whole socioeconomic ordeals surrounding their neighborhood. This is aimed to give college admissions officers an extra insight into the college application, but it is also aimed at getting race out of the equation for college. This way, the colleges could make a diverse campus based on socioeconomic status and merit rather than just race. This new addition was met with a lot of controversy from many different people for multiple reasons, such as you can’t define someone’s troubles with just a socioeconomic ‘score.’

Anna Speer - Alabama passes abortion law
Last week, Alabama enacted the most restrictive abortion laws in the United States. A woman could not end her pregnancy once the fetus has heartbeat. The governor stated she signed the law that reflects the high value on the 'sanctity of life'. The law would only permit abortions if the mother's life was at risk or the fetus was not viable. Unfortunately, Alabama is not the only state that has recently limited the woman's right to end a pregnancy. Missouri, Ohio and Georgia have also "heartbeat" legislation under consideration. These recent bills are particularly unsettling for women's rights. Will this lead to the Supreme Court? Will this lead to Roe v. Wade being overturned? As a Christian woman, I still believe that the State does not have the right to intervene. What might be right for some might not be for others, but that is not for government to decide.
