Lily Philips- Dangerous Tornadoes Coming Our Way?

Recently, the National Weather Service Storm Prediction center announced dangerous tornadoes are on the forecast for Texas and Oklahoma. This could not only affect the lives of the two million people that lie in its path but the condition of the land of the state as well. These tornadoes come along with “baseball-size hail, flash flooding, and hurricane-force winds” which can lead to major devastation of the land. Many cities such as Oklahoma City, Haskell, Snyder, Childress, and Lawton have been included in the “high risk” zones by the Prediction Center on Monday. It’s seems that there is going to be more to come in the future to look out for.
This article was written by Manny Fernandez who covers news about Texas and Oklahoma. The article was published by The New York Times which is a reputable news corporation. The audience of this article are the people of Texas and Oklahoma to warn them about what is to come later on related to the weather. The author wants to provide knowledge about what has been going on with the recent storms in the area and the threat they pose on us today. This can be connected to the tornado that was in 2013 in Moore in Oklahoma City which destroyed some much of the town that it needed to be rebuilt.

  1. Reminds me of a video my Physics teacher showed me. A tornado wipping out the city of Dallas some day.
