Gas prices have dropped tremendously since the start of this year. They have dropped as low as $1.64. However, since the start of February, as warned by our President, gas prices have gone up slowly. The reason why gas price dropped so suddenly is because we found a new source of oil that we can use instead of relying on other countries. And since the gas prices went down the value of our dollar has gone up, making our currency more powerful.
My friend filled up a full tank of gas for twenty dollars. This is a long way from where we were before, where gas was at least four dollars for a gallon. I knew that this good fortune couldn't last for long and that we should make good use of it as long as we can.

It's really good that prices went down, but like you said they are starting to climb back up.
