Woman to head Texas A&M Corps of Cadets by, Harrison Epstein

http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/17/us/texas-a-m-female-cadet-leader/index.html

In more local news there has been a breakthrough in the Womans movement, for the first time a woman will be head of the Corps of Cadets in Texas. Alyssa Marie is her name and she is very happy to be where she is "I am deeply honored to have been selected to serve as the next Corps Commander and will do my very best to uphold the tradition of leading my fellow cadets, while also continuing to learn and grow" she is quoted as having said, and people have high hopes for her. On a weird side note she is not the highest rank in the group, that award goes to a young Collie who is the teams mascot!

Its kinda nice having some good news every once in a while as opposed to the typical dreary news one hears all the time. But on to the main point, this really is a nice breakthrough for the woman's movement in today's age, especially in a place like Texas which is not exactly known for its tolerance of anyone other than a white male from Texas... So of course this makes me really happy and, while not as big a scale can compare to woman's movements in the past and people like Susan B Anthony, equality for woman still has a long way to go, but its nice to see that at the very least we are making progress!
