Recently, some pictures were leaked of Beyoncé's face with natural flaws. When her fans saw the images, they became outraged and began to post furious comments and whatnot. The idea of Beyoncé being shown as anything below perfect was too much for them to bare. Turns out that the photos were from a Loreal campaign that she had been a spokeswoman for, but nevertheless, the photos were taken down. Unfortunately, a few people save the pictures before they could be deleted.

This article is by Melonyce McAfee, written for CNN. This what the unattainable standards set by the media have brought upon our society. We as a country put celebrities on such a high shelf that we often forget these people are human just as we are. This kind of culture was first seen in the late twenties and early thirties when movie celebrities in talking films started getting noticed by the public. Posters were put up, the media got involved, and now celebrities are almost untouchable.

  2. I think it is ridiculous that people demanded the pictures be taken down. Perfection is not obtainable as humans we are meant to be flawed. We put these people on pedestals and forget that they are capable of experiencing the same emotions as us. With or without touch ups Beyoncé is beautiful, all these pictures did is burst some peoples bubble. This shows the unrealistic expectations that society has for people, and expectation that even one of the most beloved and powerful celebrity can't live up to.

  4. People throughout history have been disappointed but finding out flaws in people, the government, or whatever it is. In this case, Beyoncé wasn't seen with her make up and so what? It was for Loreal and there was a reason for it. It's very rediculous that people got mad and demanded these down. My goodness
