Patricia Arquette Oscars Acceptance Speech 2015: 'Boyhood' Winner Talks Women's Rights

At the 87th Academy Awards last Sunday night, Patricia Arquette won the Oscar for best supporting actress in the movie 'Boyhood'. She gave a powerful speech reaching out to many women and people on the topic of women's rights. She said, "To every woman who gave birth, to every tax payer and citizen of this nation we have fought for everybody else's equal rights: It's our time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America."
We can witness still to this very day that women are still fighting for equality. We tend to think that women gained their rights and freedoms years ago when we gained the right to vote and the right to own property and the right to work along side men, but we are still constantly fighting for that equal playing field with the men. Patricia Arquette, brought attention to the subject when she got her moment to give a short speech after winning best supporting actress, and chose this moment to talk about this subject when she had the biggest audience to witness this speech.
