Former New England Patriot star Aaron Hernandez has been accused of murdering Odin Lloyd. His fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, has been suspected of getting rid of the weapon used in this murder but recently Jenkins has been granted immunity from the court. It is immunity because the prosecutor essentially agrees to never prosecute the crime that the witness might have committed in exchange for said evidence. Jenkins willingness to testify shows she knows something pressing enough that could implement her fiancée. Prosecutors worry that Jenkins may lie and place Hernandez at the crime scene to save herself, but the judge has assured them that perjury in the court is not taken lightly.
This is an important case that proves that no matter how famous or big your paycheck is in America, you are not immune to the laws of this nation. Hopefully, if Hernandez is guilty of his accusations, justice is served even if that means his fiancée is getting a special deal for the truth to come out.
