Measles making a comeback? - Alyssa Hamilton

While a trip to Disneyland may sound fun, a case of the measles does not. Seven people visiting Disneyland were affected in a measles outbreak, which has now spread to more then 26 people. Officials believe the outbreak was caused by an unvaccinated women in the park, who unknowingly transmitted the virus to others. The virus is extremely contagious and health officials are worried about the outbreak growing larger, to include the rest of the United States.
Contagious diseases have been a part of history for as long as anyone can remember. Europeans actually used them for their advantage when they conquered the New World, they unwittingly spread diseases to the native american's, killing them off because they had no immunity to the diseases, much like the spread of measles to those who haven't been vaccinated.
