CNN recently did a look at the American Dream perspective in how "Sam Adams" beer was made.
The idea goes on to how one of the key trade imports America had in the "times before the 80's" was beer from other countries. And Jim Koch, the founder of Sam Adams and Boston Beer Co, saw that that could be changed, and a favorable product could be made in America. Much like how Virginian colonists grew tobacco and traded amongst each other and other countries.
They created an economic definition of America, and quite possibly started the American Dream that even people in the 1980's would find to pursue.
