Trump urges fans to boycott NFL in ongoing criticism of flag-kneeling players//KLARK JOHNSON

President Trump, on Sunday, through a series of tweets, Suggesting fans to boycott NFL games and for team owners to "fire or suspend" players who "do not stand for their National Anthem or their Country. NFL should change policy!".He followed that with this tweet "...NFL attendance and ratings are WAY DOWN. Boring games yes, but many stay away because they love our country. League should back U.S." Trump's NFL remarks were met with much criticism from professional athletes and team owners.

Last year, Quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand during "The Star-Spangled Banner" to protest police brutality against black people. Kaepernick has become a free agent and has not been signed by a new team for this season since the event. I agree with Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy. He stated  "We believe it is important to support any of our players who choose to peacefully express themselves with the hope of change for good. As Americans, we are fortunate to be able to speak openly and freely."Stephen Ross, owner of the Dolphins, said. "They wanted to start a conversation and are making a difference in our community, including working with law enforcement to bring people together. We all can benefit from learning, listening and respecting each other."

  1. The double standards within this whole situation are astounding. Trump is saying to punish these people for exercising their constitutional right to protest, but hasn't he been the big advocate for sticking to the constitution when it comes to the second amendment. Their is a lot of hypocrisy coming from him, and that's obviously an issue since he is THE president.

  2. This whole situation shouldn’t even be an issue. Literally people in flint michaign still don’t have clean water and people are trying to rebuild their lives from nothing after the hurricanes , but THE president wants to tweet about professional sports players. This is crazy.

  3. It's kind of funny how Trump stands up for the Alt-right's right to free speech, but completely ignores these NFL player's right to protest. 'makes you think about where his morals lie, if he has any.

  4. The fact that Trump is more worried about the NFL than the other (MORE IMPORTANT) issues in America simply amazes me.

  5. He honestly astounds me. How can one man say one thing about free speech one day then completely change it the next?

  6. I have a strong issue with the fact that he is preoccupied with the NFL, when he should be worried about Hurricane Maria relief and other domestic issues of greater importance.
