Trump vs. NFL- Sanaya Gangal

Summary of Article and Analysis:
Our ignorant President doesn't take the time to understand controversial and personally deep issues that individuals encounter. The public experienced a glimpse of his lack of understanding when he insulted the NFL players for "Taking a knee" during the National Anthem. On Friday, at a rally in Alabama, he stated that the players who fail to stand during the national anthem should be fired or suspended. He tweeted that "The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race... it is about respect for out Country, Flag and National Anthem" and that the NFL must respect this.
This protest started out in 2016 when NFL players Colin Kaepernick first kneeled during the National Anthem. He announced that "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color". He also said that "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way".
Well, our "genius" president announced to the media these exact words... "Wouldn't you love to see one of the NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, say 'GET THAT SON OF A BITCH OFF THE FIELD RIGHT NOW... he is fired?" He also tweeted numerous amount of times saying that the NFL should change their laws on how the players should act.
This horrible insult sparked more than just a debate over respecting the flag; it sparked a debate over respecting people. To have a president that actually calls a group of people, especially the NFL, a "son of a bitch"is not only embarrassing, but also extremely painful to hear. People are fighting for their rights and respect and the president is bashing them for doing so. This is not ok!

  2. I completely agree with you.The social injustice in this country is terrible and the racism in this country is very broad and frequent.Black and colored people have had it bad in this country since forever and we just need to come together and STOP racism. How can we call ourselves the land of the FREE when were still fighting for FREEDOM?-just think about it

  3. Although I can agree with the point you are making, you don't deny that kneeling is VERY disrespectful to people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The players who are peacefully protesting are championing a great cause, but they should keep in mind that they will never receive criticism from the people who would most likely be giving the most of it.

  4. I agree that the president should have used very different words to express his feelings. While kneeling is a sign that something is wrong with our country, I can see why people could find it disrespectful. However, the president acted unprofessionally.
