Miles Shickman

This past Tuesday, senate lawmakers decided not to hold a vote to kill the ACA at last. The deadline for insurers to register with the ACA is Wednesday, so Obamacare will survive at least through 2018. This poses some danger to Republican senators who are running for reelection next year, as they will have directly lied to their base this term. Some are holding strong on their anti-ACA opinions, such as  Senator Orrin G Hatch, who said, “I personally think it’s time for the American people to see what the Democrats have done to them on health care. They’re going to find they can’t pay for it, they’re going to find that it doesn’t work. . . . Now that will make it tough on everybody. Maybe that’s what it take to wise people up.” I strongly disagree, and am silently celebrating that the Trump administration has failed to kill this benefit to our lives.
