Elle Holland

A rockfall at El Capitan left one person dead and another injured. El Capitan is the most prominent granite cliff in Yosemite National Park. The fatal accident is said to have happened near the waterfall route which is one of the most popular climbing routes. The park rangers saw the dust in a cloud from different places in the park, little did they know the toll that this particular rockfall would take.

It is important to enjoy nature but at the same time make sure people are being safe. This is a protected and somewhat commercialized national park if the rocks weren't sturdy they should not have people risking their lives to climb on them.

  1. This is very interesting but at the same time nothing new to me since I am involved in much of nature and go out on hikes and camp along the cliffs of the big bend.
