Why NFL players have been "taking a knee" (Madeline Sabedra)

Our president has been known to do some immoral things. He has been known to act without thinking. He recently attempted to intimidate and belittle NFL plays, and rather than being bullied, they decided to take a stand (or rather take a knee). During the National Anthem, several NFL players kneeled. This is a peaceful protest. Some fans in the stands "booed" the NFL players who kneeled, and others cheered them on. This shows that we all have different views. We all have our own opinion. Lorenzo Alexander was one of the players to take a knee, and he explained that kneeling during the National Anthem does not mean they do not love their country. It does not mean they are not patriotic. He explained that it means he and his players are aware of the things that are wrong in the United States. They are aware of the things that need to change, and they are not afraid to do something about it.

I feel like this is very important because it shows that we are able to accomplish things using peace. The NFL players did not have to be violent in order to be noticed. They did not need to be violent in order to get their point accross. This article stated that this may be "one od the more important peacful protests this country has ever seen." I feel that this statement is very powerful, and very true.
