TRUMPO HATES FOOTBALL by spencer bolding

Before a Monday Night Football game against Arizona, the entire Dallas Cowboys football team, including the coach, knelt on the field as the national anthem played. This was intended to show equality among the team and symbolize the unity America needs, especially in the wake of the disasters of the last month. Trumpo saw the Dallas Cowboy's act of kneeling as an act of protest and believed it was disrespectful to the US. This demonstration of respect and understanding of the hurricane and earthquake victims shows what a sports team can do to impact societal views. Hashtags such as #istandwiththeflag or #standwiththeanthem began trending after Trumpo's outspoken disagreement with the Cowboy's demonstration as other people posted about how they agreed with the NFL team.
I believe this contrast between the Cowboys and Trumpo's views to show the divide of America itself. A peaceful act such as kneeling to show respect for victims of natural disaster during the national anthem should not be misinterpreted or shamed, as Trumpo has somehow managed to do. Any way of raising awareness for victims is important and needed in today's society.

  1. I agree, I think it's crazy what a simple national anthem act for representation could show about the division in America today.

  2. Donald Trump is literally the president of the United States how can he call something like this disrespectful? Him of all people should be making more of an effort to pay respects to victims.
