'Apocalyptic' devastation in Puerto Rico, and little help in sight

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/25/us/hurricane-maria-puerto-rico/index.html

Summary:

On Wednesday, September 20, Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico. As a result of it being a category 5 hurricane it caused major damages and almost whipped out everything in its path. Many of the citizens inhabiting the land were not able to escape the disaster since the  warnings were very unexpected. Right now theres been 10 deaths correlated to the hurricane, there is only one running hospital in the entire hospital and they are very limited in their supplies, most of the houses are in ruins, and the citizens are devastated.

Analysis:

The government of the Mainland (Unites States) has sent the navy along with transportation out the land. Although they've sent land the people that are stranded have not been able to reach it. They need supplies and they need them now. The only left running hospital only has supplies for 2 more days along with the supply of food that is expected to last 20 days. As you may all know reconstruction is going to last way more than 20 days. These supplies are going to come to an end and what are the citizens going to do when they do. We need to help them. They are people like us, Americans. Another confer is the falling of The Guajacata Dam. Due to major rainfall the dam over flooded and the great pressure of the water caused a part to break off. Officials say its going to keep deteriorating and can eventually claps as whole causing, once again, floods. Citizens feel strained and family members in other countries are not able to contact their own family. Puerto Rico is in a state of emergency and we need to do whatever we can to help them.

  1. I had no idea that there was only one running hospital in Puerto Rico currently! And about the lack of supplies. It's so sad to think after these people got stripped of basically everything they own, they don't even have the proper tools left for basic life and for their loved ones. I agree that we need to help.
