Summary: North Korea has been working on developing nuclear-tipped missiles capable of hitting the U.S. mainland and are conducting its sixth and largest nuclear test this month. North Korea’s foreign minister stated that on Monday, President Donald Trump had declared war on North Korea and that Pyongyang reserved the right to take countermeasures, including shooting down U.S. bombers even if they are not in its air space. He told reporters, “The whole world should clearly remember it was the U.S. who first declared war on our country...Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country...The question of who won’t be around much longer will be answered then."
Analysis: North Korea has technically been in war with the United States since the Korean War during 1950 to 1953. The war ended in a truce and not a peace treaty, so that would explain why North Korea's foreign minister claims that they have the right to attack the United States. That might also be contributed to North Korea's negative opinions on the United States, so with President Trump declaring war against them, it would give them more of a reason to take countermeasures against us. This could be related to how in 1898, the Americans blamed the Spanish for the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine for the purpose of expanding world power.
North Korea has always been stubborn since Kim Jong Un's regime. At the least his father wasn't all threatening to the world like his son is. But North Korea hasn't been at war with the US even technically. It's been at war since the US since Kim Jong Un rose to power and started experimenting with nuclear weapons like crazy.
ReplyDeleteNorth Korea and our government need to realize the magnitude of this situation and figure something out because if this goes on any further, this could result in something disastrous.
