2 Dogs Found Dead Inside Metal Crates in Niagara Falls

Summary

Camillya Joseph was charged with 2 account of aggravated animal cruelty. Apparently the dogs had been left behind and left to starve.  After seeing flies in the window the neighbors called in a tip to local authorities in Niagara Falls. It was upon investigation after the call was made that the bodies of the dogs, having been dead for about 50 days at the time, had been discovered.

Analysis

Though I am personally saddened by this story, I cannot say I'm shocked. Unfortunately more cases of animal abuse and suffering have been popping up than they have in years past. This makes sense if one considers the over breeding/ force breeding some pet owners partake in.  Our country is somewhat over crowded with pets that no one will claim ownership of. People often get a pet without really considering the responsibility that accompanies doing so. I encourage anyone looking to bring a furry friend into their life to avoid breeders and instead opt for shelter dogs. At least then you do not help to contribute to the cruelties in the breeding business.

  1. This is extremely sad and makes me very angry. Not everyone understands that animals are a lot like humans and have feelings. No animal deserves to go through what these dogs have gone through.

  2. That's not just animal cruelty if the doggos are dead!!! That's infuriating, and no animal deserves to go through pain.

  3. Situations like these confuse and anger me. As you said, some people don't understand what they're getting into when buying a dog, so I think that there should be maybe at least a little bit of a vetting process before someone is allowed to adopt one. Maybe just a few questions about basic care, or a background check to make sure the person doesn't have a history of animal cruelty. This may sound a bit extreme but animals completely rely on the people who adopt them, those people need to be fit to care.
