Carsyn Gekas- Maria

About two weeks ago the Caribbean faced the devastating destruction of Hurricane Irma. While still recovering from that, they get news that another storm has showed up in the ocean. Originally Maria (the newest hurricane) was classified only as a tropical storm, however as of Sunday night, Maria was now a category 1 hurricane. Although that isn't terrible, precautions still have to be taken because usually hurricanes build and get larger before they hit land.
Jose is also forming in the ocean however, doesn't plan on making it to land. If it were to make landfall the Bahamas would receive the most of it. Thought history we have all experienced natural disasters like hurricane Katrina, however having this many of the same natural disasters is not common. Who knows what is causing it, but it is for sure something to think about. I hope the places devastated by the recent hurricanes are staying strong and pushing through, and everyone will be thinking about those who may be effected by the two newest hurricanes.

  1. It honestly sucks having to hear that there will be yet another hurricane after two have already passed through in the past month.

  2. I thought that hurricane season was in April. With all the hurricanes showing up again but this time outside of America it won't impact us as much at less if we (America) decide to send help to outside countries. If one of the hurricanes does in fact hit land

  3. There have been so many hurricanes hit in these past few weeks and it has been truly devastating. Hopefully all of the people in the affected areas will get out and seek a safe shelter for the time being.

  4. There has to be a human affect for all of these hurricanes. Hurricanes don't just pop up left and right because they feel like it. Earth's waters are higher than they should be.

  5. It's kind of interesting that there are people in the Caribbean constantly under fear of hurricanes and floods, and while their lives are being torn apart, we are just hanging out up here and watching it on the news. There wasn't even any rain in Dallas- I think this can serve as a reason to give to charities benefitting the areas recently hit by hurricanes.
