Hurricane Maria aims towards Puerto Rico

http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/19/americas/hurricane-maria-caribbean-islands/index.html

Summary: Another category 5 hurricane has taken aim at the Caribbean. Hurricane Maria mimics similar traits as hurricane Irma, which has potential to be devastating. With all of the destruction from Harvey and Irma combined, Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands prepare for even more.

Analysis: There have been so many massive hurricanes this season, and its baffling that they keep tearing through the Caribbean Islands along with the Continental U.S. Its awful how these smaller countries are having to deal with the loss due to these hurricanes. The impeccable size of these storms is most likely due to climate change, and its starting to feel as though mother nature is fighting back. My thoughts and prayers go out to all hurricane victims and their families for all that they have lost in the past months.

  1. Although it completely saddens me to see the devastation that these tropical storms have brought to the region in the past few months, it's very interesting to see the increasing effectiveness of both modern evacuation procedures and, more obviously, emergency response procedures and protocols. Many lives have been saved by the increasing effectiveness of these practices, as well as the implication of modern technology into these fields.

  2. There's been a new super-hurricane almost every week for the past month and many people have lost their lives because of them, yet some people still don't believe that global warming has any role in these storms. In order to slow such devastation, (because at this point it's impossible to stop) all Americans and our leaders must be educated and come to a consensus on climate change.
