After North Korea's recent test of their Nuclear Hydrogen bomb weapon that caused a 6.3 tremor (one of their most powerful weapons yet), many countries are ready to take action if necessary. Currently the U.S. is prepared to cut off all trade with North Korea- hoping to find a path with the least amount of violence. Still, ominous responses from president Trump leads to the suspicion of the U.S. making the first move against them.
While president Trump was leaving a church that was helping Harvey victims, a reporter asked if the "United States would attack N. Korea," his response was "We'll see." This leads some to speculate the U.S. to make a first move, but others reason that they will make a move when the nation acts upon their threats.
Currently the UN security council is holding an emergency session. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the nuclear test was "profoundly destabilizing for regional security," and David Wright, the co-director of the Union of Concerned Scientists Global Security Program states that North Korea "...now seems to have decided to end that restraint," with their nuclear tests.
Ironically enough, the U.S. also had a use of nuclear weapons in a similar way. It was near the end of world war ll when we bombed Hiroshima- a Japanese city. We first issued threats of the use of the weapon to help stop the war; however, it was not enough and that metaphorical button was pushed. North Korea is in a similar situation except that once they act upon their threats, it would lead to war.
