Sophie Sandoval- Hurricane Irma strengthens as it heads toward Leeward Islands

Authors Susannah Cullinane, Holly Yan and Joe Sutton work with CNN news and they wrote the article to inform us about hurricane Irma and the dangerous effects it could have. This article warns the reader about the strength hurricane Irma will have and will gain. They all quote reputable sources like the National Hurricane Center and the Florida governor. The Florida governor wants to make sure every civilian has a disaster supply kit ready to use at all times. Puerto Rico's governor warned everyone on Sunday that by noon on Wednesday Irma should strike. AEMEAD has opened a information hotline for the public to gain information about the hurricane. Hurricane Irma formed in the far eastern Atlantic therefore, it is called a "Cape Verde hurricane". However, Cape Verde storms are known to be the most large and disastrous of them all. Irma has swells that should impact the northern Leeward Islands by Monday. Some of the Caribbean islands are under a hurricane warning right now. CNN meteoroligist Allison Chinchar said that Irma is only going to intensify due to the warm water she will get into. At first people thought the hurricane could possibly turn back into the ocean but that possibility is very faint now due to the strength Irma has gained.
