Caroline Carter - Donald Trump on the verge of starting war with North Korea
Donald Trump's strict rhetoric against North Korea has not only increased tensions with them, but also with its neighbor to the south. South Korean president Moon Jae-in's administration hoped to establish a dialogue with the north and ease tensions between the two countries; however, due to President Trump's preference for a tougher approach, this is proving more and more difficult to accomplish. In a tweet the American president sent out early September 3, he stated that military force, not peace talks, is the only form of diplomacy that North Korea understands. Despite reassurances from analysts, both South Korean and American citizens feel uneasy about the relationship between the two countries. According to US ambassador to the UN Bill Richardson, the United States should try to stand behind the south instead, as they are "our main ally in the region". There is also the question of what President Trump really believes is the answer to the crisis, as he has repeatedly stated that peace talks are not totally off the table in addition to his numerous tweets claiming that violence is the solution. The appearance of a dispute between the two countries has unsettled many and will unsettle many more unless Presidents Trump and Moon are able to reach an agreement.

A war with the current leaders of North Korea and the United States would be the equivalence to 4 year old children throwing fire crackers in a garden; it'll only result in useless time, energy, lives, and supplies being wasted.
ReplyDeleteHope we don't see North Korea with nuclear weapons capable of hitting the US mainland like we saw during the Cuban Missile Crisis because I seriously doubt Trump is as politically savvy as JFK. Oh wait...
