Last Sunday morning, Donald Trump retweeted an photo shopped GIF of him hitting Hillary Clinton with a golf ball. While people have argued "retweet doesn't equal endorsement", it's still a dangerous and frankly inappropriate position for a prominent political figure to take. This is not the first violent stance the president has taken.
This article was written by Juana Summers, a senior writer for CNN politics. It was produced Sunday night by CNN. This article has a more liberal pre-disposed leaning against Trump and his politics, due to the fact it was produced at CNN.
Before reading this article, I already knew that Trump had said horrible things about women and supported violence against women, so this didn't come as a shock to me.
This article was written for people who already most likely dislike Trump, and it definitely has a negative influence.
This article was written to bring light to Trump's problematic and violent standings, and to comment on those standings.
In a time where domestic violence, rape, and general violence against women are still VERY present, we need our leaders to be contributing to positive change, not to perpetuate that violence in the form of "comedy". Our president should be someone who advocates for women's rights, or at the very LEAST respects women. This is a disgusting display of Trump's horrific, violent, and unprofessional personality and his sore lack of diplomacy, emotional intelligence, and eloquence.
The main point of this article is that Trump consistently disrespects women and supports violence, and doesn't know how to maintain a professional social media presence.
Trump's blatant disrespect for his former opponent is similar to the election of 1828, often called the dirtiest campaign ever, where John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson ran nasty, slandering smear campaigns against each other.
Not only is he a part of sexual abuse, harassment, and inciting violence but he also continues to show an insanely large amount of pettiness between him and Hillary Clinton. This is immature and ridiculous but then again, that often describes our president's behavior.
ReplyDeleteI personally find our presidents posts on social media immature and childish. As the leader of our country, he should not be taking time to respond and encourage petty and childish gifs.
ReplyDeleteAs a president I feel that Mr.Trump should not go around and post annoying things on social media. At times does anyone wonder how he has so much time to constantly post on social media and retweet things.
ReplyDeleteLiam Wise- "Strictly unprofessional" should've just been his campaign slogan at this point. This is most definitely indicative of Trump's inability to take the office of president seriously.
ReplyDeleteThis is the type of immaturity a president shouldn't openly display all over social media. While people fight for equality and their rights, the president is too busy retweeting gifs of hitting Hillary Clinton with a golf ball. How do we know that he's making the right choices for this country if he's too occupied by attacking people that oppose him?
