Ashley Neece- North Korea's Newest Claim

North Korea, as of September 3, has claimed that they tested a new hydrogen bomb that reached a 6.3 on the Richter scale. The last hydrogen bomb test was September 9 2016. Korea claims the test was a perfect suggests and that they can miniaturize the bomb. James Mattis, the secretary of defense, stated  "Any threat to the United States or its territories inducing Guam or our allies will be meet with a massive military response both affecting and overwhelming. China also has stated that they do not agree with any of these actions. Korea shortly after the test released images of Kim Jong Un inspecting the bomb.

This kind of bomb testing for Korea has happened before, and it completely defies UN rules over nuclear weapons. The U.S. has not done anything drastic yet, but it soon might depending on what North Korea does next. The weapons Korea has been testing has also caused many earthquakes. This is having a strong effect on the ecosystem and the Earth. This shows how human progress starts becoming more important than the one thing that allows us to do it, with out the Earth there would be no mountains to test these weapons or people to be affected. North Korea hasn't directly used one of their bombs in the U.S. but they have endangered the Earth, which they will continue to do unless someone puts an end to their testing.

  1. I find it appalling how Kim Jong un would risk stability of the environment and the safety of innocent people to test a weapon that could have possibly left a deadly impact. All for reasons that aren't worth one human life being lost. It's quite ironic how science, math and technology were further developed for the benefit of human existence, yet now its posing as a threat to man kind.
