Protesters Wear Dinosaur Costumes Outside the White House

Summary of Article:
On August 30, several protesters dressed as dinosaurs marched outside the White House to show their lack of approval for President Trump's recent statements concerning the nation's budget for 2018. This reform includes multiple cutbacks on national service programs, such as the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps. Both of these organizations will "go extinct" if not funded. Hence, why dinosaur costumes were involved.

Analysis:
The use of the costumes as a metaphor for the organizations struck me as a stroke of genius, as I just so happen to see Donald Trump as a gigantic meteor, primed to collide with our world and destroy all life. I believe also that history is repeating itself, as I see many similarities between this and the Boston Tea Party. On December 16 1773, the American people rose up against their tyrannical monarch to protect their fundamental rights and stand up for what they believed in. They performed a grand gesture of defiance by dumping all of their highly tariffed tea into the harbor. They, like the protesters in costumes, used metaphor to make a powerful and lasting impact on all those who hear of their plight.

  1. Best method to enhance and elaborate the voices of the protest, all we need now is for Trump the Meteor to actually fall hundreds of miles to the ground at high speeds.

  2. I think making protesting against what you believe something more upbeat and fun is very good. I think that making it a possible trend will make protesting stronger and more fun have younger people and old research what the believe in order to correctly protest, as long as the don't break laws in the process.

  3. The comparison to the Boston Tea party is strangely fitting, I do, however, prefer the dinosaur costumes. I also greatly appreciate your choice to include humor, as most of the article summaries I've read about today have to do with the destruction of lives.

  4. I really like the message this article is sending about the organizations going extinct that was really smart! Hopefully this protest will make them realize that they need to ''preserve'' the organizations.
