Pending DACA decision sparks reaction on both sides
Summary: President Trump is planning to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It protects undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children from
getting sent back to their home country. The article explains the contrasts between parties beliefs on Donald Trump's decision. For example, white nationalist Richard Spencer tweeted that getting rid of DACA was a "great start". And on the other hand, Bernie Sanders tweeted that ending DACA is "absolutely counter to what we stand for as a nation." However, there have been some decisions not influenced by political party. A republican congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen tweeted, "Congress most work immediately to pass a law protecting Dreamers."
Analysis: Previously, Trump did say that his goal was to build a wall to keep immigrants out, so this new decision of his is sadly, quite expected on his end. As for some conservatives siding with Trump, and referring to his decision as a "great start", I don't think they realize how deep this goes into people's lives that grew up in our "cohesive" nation. It would make sense that there would be a clear-
cut political right and left in the controversy, so it's interesting that there is some crossover.

I agree with you, this will have many negative affects to people's lives. It's so upsetting to see/ live in these trivial times today especially with the one governing our country now.
ReplyDeleteI think that every person deserves the right to be in our country, but now that Trump is trying to trying to make even the hardest working people leave, it seems like we might have an empty country in the next four years!
