Alycesandra Martinez -DACA

The world is waiting for the decision of President Donald Trump`s on his view of the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). DACA is an american immigration policy that allows certain undocumented immigrants who entered the country before their 16th birthday and before June 2007, to receive a renewable two- year work permit and EXEMPTION of deportation. Trump had repeatedly said in his campaign to terminate the DACA. Since then the wait has put a "panic mode" on so many people. Some people don`t think it affects them but it really does, for example ending the DACA could possibly leave some  employers without employees. Therefore the economy will decrease enormously. My heart breaks for the children all over the world, I can`t imagine what they are thinking or feeling.

This goes back to 2012 when Obama launched the DACA, yes is did not allow them to gain legal status`s nor citizenship, but it was  temporary protection. People had some stress lifted from their shoulders when it was passed. I don`t think children should be living their lives wondering if ICE ( immigration and customs enforcement) are coming to get them. They should be living their lives just like anyone else, because they are people to. I feel that we are going backwards instead of forwards and hope something changes quick.

  1. It seems that Donald Trump is letting his biases get in the way of more logical options. Obama's presidency did fantastic things for the U.S. and it seems that Trump just wants to spend his term undoing things instead of giving attention to the problems that actually need to be fixed.

    1. I totally agree with you, Jessica. The only thing Trump has done with his 8 months in office is play golf and undo anything that advocates for social justice or civil rights. He hasn't even actually worked to do anything he's promised, which is probably a good thing.
