McKenzie Hartmann, 4th Period - Delayed Train

This article talks about two fatalities involving the same train and the repercussions that train engendered for football fans.  The train, on its way to Charlotte, North Carolina, was delayed due to hitting two people in Durham and Greensboro.  The delayed route proved an inconvenience for many football fans trying to get from Charlotte to Raleigh after a panthers, 49ers game at Bank of America stadium.  As the city scrambled to find adequate transportation, rounding up bus drivers and available vehicles, citizens voiced their opinions.  One man blatantly criticized the city's lack of preparation for such an incident, while others were far more understanding.  The general consensus amongst the group was that the fate of the unfortunate victims was far more severe than a delay and were therefore extremely reasonable.  Officials are still investigating the cause for these incidents, though while no official statement has been made.

This is a very tragic occurrence and I hope the families of the victims have the support and love of the city.  While I can understand the irritation of the football fans, this is a situation where there really is no bad guy and harsh criticism or outright anger is unwarranted.  This should serve as a lesson to the dangers of trains, specifically walking along or near the tracks, instead of just being noted as an inconvenience.
