A young teen gets a surprise visit from his mother returning from the military force. This article was featured today (1/20/14) four hours ago on Yahoo! News, known for sharing articles that feature ways to improve so-and-so to happy moment like this.
Origionally, thirteen year old Derrick Jenkins was suspecting his mother to return the first of February, but Cotina Jenkins-Sellers was planning to see him on January sixteenth, the day of her sons basketball game. She watched quietly from behind him as he missed his free throws, finally responding that it was alright. He turned in shock to see his mother behind him. That day, Derrick cried tears of happiness to see his mother again after eight months. The game didn't matter anymore.
It does my heart good to see wonderful moments like this, as I'm sure it would to anyone else. I pray that everyone else who has not returned yet to their home countries gets to as quickly as possible, safe and sound. At least for now, the Jenkins are reunited.
