Byron Otis-Target Card Thief Identified

More than a month ago, nearly 110 million Target customers had their credit card information stolen, through malware used to hack into Target's database. The culprit has not been identified until now. A 17 year old Russian boy seems to have caused this massive infringement and hubbub. Research indicates that another suspect, not yet identified, seems to reside in the Ukraine. However, the Russian seems to be the main source of the code written to break into Target, which was later put on the internet for other hackers to use.
I'm glad that the hacking was discovered when it was, however, and millions were able to get new credit cards. what a joy.

  1. Kids with computers are moving faster with their hacking skills than major corporations can keep up with security-wise. I asked my mom the other day why she had to get a new credit card and her response was "Because we bought Christmas gifts at Target and my information was stolen by a hacker."

  2. That kid is highly impressive. I also approve of the use of the word hubbub.
