Sisters hold triple wedding for ailing mother - Carolyn Villalobos 4th Period

In October, three sisters, Jodie, Sarah and Kaylie Swales, decided to hold their weddings all on the same day. Their mother, Becky Swales, was dying of  breast cancer, and had very little time left to live, so they decided to grant their mother's dream of seeing them walk down the aisle before she passed away. When they discovered she had even less time to live than they originally thought, they moved their weddings up several weeks. Sadly, the day after the ceremony, Becky passed away.

This is a bittersweet article. On one hand, Mrs. Swales was able to see all three of her daughters walk down the aisle. On the other hand, her grandchildren will never be able to know her, and her husband and daughters will be unable to spend time with her anymore. I am glad she was able to live and see the ceremony, but it is sad that she died so soon afterwards.

  2. It's so touching to see a family come together and do something like this for an ailing loved one. I hope that they cherish the memories they have of Becky Swales forever.

  3. That's the sweetest, saddest thing. I'm glad that some of Becky's last memories were undoubtably happy ones

This is so sweet to read. In all of the terrible and horrible things that are going on in the news, the sweetness of this family shows through. I'm very glad that the daughters made that choice.

  8. Aww!! That was such an incredibly nice thing of her daughters to do. I think that it's great that the girls found a way to turn a sad situation into a happy one for their mother; they made her last wish come true.
