What Would MLK Do? - Zien Lin (P4)

Summary: The mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, says that King would want kids to stay in school to get educated in order to better the world. The new mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, says that King would want to bring income equality. King's daughter, Bernice, called for Monday(today) to be a "no shots fired" day in order to honor the memory of her father. The Obama family is honoring his memory by personally volunteering for charity events and service projects such as working at the local soup kitchen. Also, the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN played for the first time a recorded interview with King from 1960 that was donated to it in 2012 by David Copperfield publicly.

Response: I think King would vehemently fight for income equality first of all but LGBT rights would come as a close second. Where's the great civil rights leader of our generation?

  1. Hmm... it's interesting that everyone has this speculative approach about what MLK would do now. (He'd've been 85, so most likely rightfully chilling out.)

  2. Well good for Obama for continuing the idea of MLK! I believe funding these organizations with benefit society.
