Brain-dead Texas woman taken off ventilator

After being considered brain dead on November 26th 2013, Marlise Munoz was finally taken off of life support on 11:30 am this sunday. However, the struggle to get her off of life support was difficult for her family not because they believed it was unethical, but because she
was 14 weeks pregnant at the time she was considered brain dead. A Texas state law requires hospitals to keep women on life support if they are pregnant. Even though her husband and family all said they wanted to take her off life support because she even stated that she didn't want to live by being hooked up to machines, it was still not their decision. After a difficult court fight however, they finally won giving the family peace.
During the court fight, there were many pro-life people protesting outside the hospital that the women was residing in at the time. I believe that people have a right to their own opinion, but I think in this delicate situation the decision should have been kept private, not public, because of the extremely hard decision that had to be made by the family. What do you think?
