Marlise Munoz Brain Dead and Pregnant - Beatriz Ruiz 4th period

  On November 26, 2013 around 2 am the nightmare for the Munoz family had just began. Marlise Munoz a 33 year old woman and mom of one child and pregnant of another for 14 weeks at that time. Was found unconscious on the kitchen floor that night by her husband Erick Munoz. She was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital where she was declared ''brain dead''. They connected her to life supporting machines because the law in Texas is that you can't disconnect a pregnant woman even if  brain dead. Basically her body is functioning normally but she is dead and the fetus is still in there alive.The baby is now 21 weeks old and they plan for doctors to do testing when its 24 weeks old. Munoz husband and family wish to disconnect her because they say those were her wishes if something like this would happen to her. The hospital refuses to disconnect her therefore Erick is sewing them and now the court has the case. The question is to disconnect her or not even though the baby is still growing.
