12 years a Slave by: Taylor Grant-Gates
At the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, the Motion Picture 12 Years a Slave won the Best MotionPicture Award. The cast includes, but is not limited to, Chiewetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbenden, Brad Pitt, Lupita Nyong'o, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sarah Paulson, and Alfre Woodard. Of course there were many other cast members in the movie. The story follows a free, educated Black man who is kidnapped and sold into slavery. Along the way the captive man (Chiwetel Ejiofor) meets many faces along the way. There are also other stories in the movie but they all end up being connected by the Captive man, Solomon. There are many many many moment in the movie that are tear Jerkers. The movie is educational for all appropriate audiences and is a good movie to watch. I am glad this award was earned by the members of the movie. All of there hard work payed off. Congratulations!
