The Syrian War by Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex

The Syrian War started in 2011 when a group of school children were arrested. Ever since then it has been the biggest humane crisis since World War 2. The Syrian civil war has killed more than 300,000 people and forced 10.6 million people to leave their homes. It all started when a group of school children were tortured for writing "the people want to topple the regime" on a school building. Recently Russia has launched airstrikes on rebel targets to help the country.

The murder and killing that is happening in Syria is horrible. The Syrian government doesn't seem to want to find peace. In February of 2014 the second round of peace talks between the Syrian Government failed, by that time 140,000 people had died. This war has been going on non stop for 4 years. I can't imagine the fear and suffering that the Syrian people are experiencing.
