"Black Female Student Violently Assaulted During South Carolina Classroom Arrest" by Jack Higgins

This kind of crap is what makes me livid when some ignorant person says that racism is not a legitimate problem in America today (which would be a surprisingly high number of people). Richland County, South Carolina "peace" officer (as that is an interchangeable term with police officer [although that term has gone widely unused in the past few years, not surprising with the way some of these law-enforcement officials are acting]) Ben Fields was shown in the video posted, grabbing an African-American female student by her neck, violently flipping her and her entire chair backwards, then grabbing her again by her neck and chair until she's separated from the chair by being dragged across the floor, before being handcuffed in what is clearly a very unnecessarily rough fashion by the officer. Fields, according to students, has a large history with violence and high amounts of unnecessary and unwarranted aggression in his work, and this is just one of many examples of his behavior. The only difference is that this one was filmed and is now bringing to light the horrid mistreatment of this young woman, and perhaps many, many more African-Americans across the country (student or not). The girl was not resisting, yet the officer still decided to sling her several times across the room. Hopefully, the unnamed student is fine back at home with her parents (to whom she was released custody), not being harassed by any law enforcement officials at this time. Something needs to change so that we can prevent this kind of intolerable, inexcusable behavior from continuing.
