South Carolina Flooding -Avery Yoss
This weekend, South Carolina received some crazy rainstorms that resulted in major flooding. And though the rain has passed, the troubles are not gone. The cost to repair the damage that the flooding did will be a very big number. The dams failed this weekend, when the rain came, so all of the broken dams will need to be fixed. 15 people have died so far because of the crazy weather in South Carolina. The rivers may not even crest for another two weeks, they are still very high.
This is so terrifying, especially for the many people who lost their homes and even loved ones because of the flooding. 9 people drowned this weekend because of it. It is going to be very costly to fix everything, so I hope someone can start a fundraising organization for South Carolina's loss.

its incredible to think of what these people went though. to realize that all your belongings and all the things you cared about are no longer with you is something that i hope i never have to go through. i personally would not know how to start over from such a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Victoria. To lose everything you own would be awful and even though those are just things, it doesn't make them less significant to someone.
ReplyDeleteIts crazy how rain can cause so much damage. I also agree people probably lost personal belongings that probably meant the world to them. Desiree Smith period 4
ReplyDeleteThere are so many natural disasters that happen all over the U.S. and the world. This make me think of hurricane Katrina, and how much damaged winds and water can cause. I hope the government is sending relief their way. There has been so much controversy on the government's relief in times of need after natural disasters, and most of it is not positive. - Brenna Hale(6th Period)
ReplyDeleteTimes like these are devastating to communities, but it brings everyone together to help which is a beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad hopefully the goverment does somethingabout this. Nobody should have to endure something like this
ReplyDeleteHopefully there is relief for the victims. The communities should be rebuilt as soon as possible.
