'Jack Epping' comes to Dallas // Uriel Cruz, Period 6

Back in 2011, renowned writer Stephen King had a book published by the name of 11/22/63. 5 years later, a TV mini-series is to be streamed as a Hulu exclusive. Let's go back a year before it starts streaming though. It's October 2015 and school's over for the day, your mom is late and roads are closed. You get lost since your usual route is in the middle of all the commotion. Did a tourist get runover? What's going on? You check the news and there seems to be filming going on in Dealey Plaza. Hm...weird. It's just a road, why would it be filmed? Woah, James Franco and Josh Duhamel are here? Woah, woah, woah! Now I need to know everything about this so I can brag to my cousins who don't live in Dallas that James Franco is here! Hm...an 11/22/63 adaptation? What's 11/22/63? Oh nice, a Stephen King book. Skip a few days and you've told your cousin who is a big fan of Franco's. "Why is he in Dallas, specifically?" she asks. "Not really sure actually." Out of nowhere, your brain connects the dots, there weren't any tourists runover. Tourists, why are tourists at Dealey Plaza all the time? ...Oh boy....OH BOY! NOW EVERYONE MUST KNOW!

As we all know, a lot of things in history have already been adapted to film. Wars, a terrible movie about a vampire hunting abolitionist, for example. Although I thought everything had been done over and over again, I'd never seen a movie or tv show about John F. Kennedy. Quite a few books have been written on the subject but not really any visual representations on it other than conspiracy documentaries. It's time now though. Hulu has just finished filming a mini-series about John F. Kennedy's assassination here in Dallas and boy howdy will it have me and my family as audience members...once we get Hulu, that is.

The Kennedy assassination is probably one of the most mysterious tragedies to happen in recent times. Although the book the mini-series is based off of is fictional, I think it will bring a lot of attention to it, that and Netflix's shadow. It will have been 53 years since it happened when it streams so they probably waited 3 years too long. Since a new generation is coming in, it's appropriate to have a drama on the subject to draw attention to it. Some kids probably don't even know why 9/11/01 is such an important date to American history because they're too young. We might have to wait a bit longer for an adaptation of that however.
