CONFEDRATE FLAG SUPPORTERS CHARGED WITH TERRORISM AFTER HARASSING BLACK CHILD'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
BY: Tristin Manus 8th
Summary: In Georgia, sometime in July, a group of truck-driving Confederate Flag supporters invaded a black child's birthday party with Confederate merchandise dressed ford trucks. In addition to reportedly shouting racial slurs, the group also made threats of violence against birthday party attenders before police arrived on the scene. On last Friday, the Grand Jury indicted the 15 Respect the Flag members. They violated Georgia's Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act and was convicted of terrorist threats. Two of the members were also reportedly charged with battery for a separate incident that occurred the same day at a nearby gas station.
Analysis: After the hype of Dylann Roof's racial/terrorist act of the event of Charleston Church Massacre , multiple debates over the meaning of the confederate flag has went viral all over the United States. The bold act of Dylann Roof ignited all confederate flag supporters to come together to terrorize black people. The confederate flag is a symbol of hatred, pain and suffering to African Americans. This group wanted to assert white supremacy, with their riding around in big trucks decked out with confederate flag merch, screaming loud and obnoxious racial slurs in black neighborhoods. This particular even can relate back into history, the American Revolution, particularly to the acts the colonists had to endure.
I am so OVER confederate flag supporters. Period. The confederate flag is, yes, the flag of the southern states during the Civil War. The southern states, however, were fighting primarily for their "states rights." AKA, slavery. People who support the confederate flag are ignorant racists, and they need to stop being horrible and ruining children's birthday parties. I've had it, officially. -Nora Bracy 5th
