Trump administration announces that they will be lifting the ban on elephant trophies from Zimbabwe. A ban that was made by former president Barack Obama in 2014. The lift if the ban creates an increase of endangerment of the wildlife in Africa. This lifted ban could the extinction of elephants. Poaching has already changed genetics of elephants, since there has been an increase amount of elements born without tusks."100 elephants a day are already killed, this will lead to more poaching." This article was published on November 16th 2017. I had already known about the issue in Africa on elephant poaching. This effected my understanding of the article since I am interested in preserving the life of animals from extinction. This article was written for those who were unaware of the elephant poaching issue. It gives an example on the Trump presidency and the views they support. This article was important because it gives an insight on Trumps' presidency and gives awareness to the poaching of elephants.
