Shayne Grant: Donald Trump chooses his own version of reality to back Moore

President Donald Trump came out again on Tuesday to defend Alabama Republican Senatorial candidate Roy Moore despite the fact that numerous women have accused Moore of sexual misconduct with minors. Trump claims that since Moore denies the allegations, he should be clear of the charges. It appears that Trump is defending Moore for his own political gain. Moore embodies most of the "trump-politics" that Trump has called for. Trump has also belittled Moore's opponent calling him weak on crime and weak on the border. This endorsement is similar to his defense of Russian President Vladimir Putin who denies his involvement in the 2016 election with Trump saying he believes what Putin says.

This endorsement is troubling in that Trump won't listen to the allegations in order to just protect his political pursuits. Trump does not confront the problems facing Moore and just defers to his opponent. This makes it sound like the President thinks that it is worse to be a democrat than a child molesters. Trump needs to get his priorities straight before he puts a man in office who has done horrible deeds.
