Terrorist Attack in Egypt- Soleil

In one of the deadliest attacks in Egypt’s recent history, terrorists attacked a a mosque last week, leaving 305 people dead and 128 injured in a town of only 800. No group has claimed responsibility, but the attackers were reportedly carrying ISIS flags. The Egyptian military then tried to track down the terrorists, fleeing the town with airstrikes. President Donald Trump tweeted about the attack, calling it “tragic” and claiming the US needed to get 'tougher' on terrorism... The roots of the attack are especially peculiar, as they are now attacking the similar branches of their religion. “When you are claiming to be the one true religious authority as ISIS does, other people that practice your religion differently are more of a threat than people from other religions". Although it was towards Sufi muslims, the attack was especially shocking, as its relation towards these people have been notably peaceful before.          This is such a tragic event, and I think this further proves that attacks can be on anyone, and anything nowadays, and although we must try to make sure our world stays at peace (or as close as that will ever get...), predicting when these deadly attacks will occur, just got even harder.

  1. Wow those numbers are very scary, it shows how powerful terrorist groups, if I am correct in assuming this was ISIS's fault, really are and how they need to be stopped soon before they get even worse.
