Underground network readies homes to help undocumented immigrants
Reverend Hoover has created a network called Rapid Response to shelter Undocumented Immigrants. He worries that I.C.E. will come knocking on his door at any moment to take the immigrants he hide in his home. He knows that there is such thing as the 4th amendment that allows him the right to secure people in his home. But he does tell CNN that he will not let them in unless they have a warrant. He also says that it is scary and he does not know what he would do if they did come with a warrant. It isnt just Hoover that is securing undocumented immigrants in his home either there is a whole network working to help out these immigrants. They are doing this to protect the immigrants from Trumps new executive order.
I think that this is a great thing that this network is doing because these people need to be helped and they should not be thrown out of a country that they came to for a better life just to go back wheere they came from. I also believe that it is a terrible thing that the Trump is doing with this new executive order because it is splitting families apart from each other and I just do not understand how you could live with knowing that you are separating innocent people from their families for no reason
I can synthesis this with the underground rairoad from back when slavery was a thing. People up north would help slaves escape the chains of the South and it could have lead to the people who were helping out the other people to get in trouble. Also I can synthesis this too during Worl War II when people would hide the Jewish poeple in their homes so that way they did not have to go to concentration camps and they risked their lives. Although this would not lead to the death of these networkers but it could lead to trouble.
