Mollie Hamman 1st period - Fire Rainbow

Recently in Singapore a "fire rainbow" was seen hovering above the island for a total of about 15 minutes. It stared as a small glob of light, and as it grew, more and more colors were joining in this uncommon rainbow.

There are different theories as to why it happened. Some say that the cloud was made of ice crystals, and the sun refracted through it turning it into a "fire rainbow." Others say that the water crystals or droplets could have scattered the light.

I think that this is a wonderful reminder to look up and see the beauty that is all around us, rather than worry ourselves over every fine detail of every problem all the time. If we never appreciate what we already have, we may lose it without ever noticing.

  6. I like stuff like this. It is important to appreciate two things in life. Art, and the unfathomable random beauty of the natural world. Politics, while important, are neither of which.
