Kate Pinkerton - US public schools protect undocumented students

Summary - The Chicago Public School District sent out a letter to all principals at their schools saying not to allow immigration and customs enforcement workers into the school unless they have a warrant. This is to protect the illegal immigrants in their school and make sure they have a safe place to learn, without fear of being deported. Other school districts have similar policies regarding the ICE in place because of Donald Trumps new policies of deportation and building a wall.

Analysis - Its so sad that people who are in the US working hard trying to get an education are having to constantly worry about if they or their family members will get deported. The US claims to be the Land of the Free but because of a racist atmosphere here it really doesn't feel that free. I hope that DISD has some sort of rule like this protecting students. I have heard stories of kids in DISD whos parents have been deported and their kids have been left here homeless.
