New Cloud Pet Toy Leak Costumer's Privite Infromation: Regan Saldana

Summary:
A new hot toy called CloudPets has been purchased by many families across America. This toy allows children to talk to a loved one or friend through toy to connect with an app on another end. This new tech toy has sold out from many stores and with the 2.2 million users comes more of an issue with the upcoming investigation of the audio, video, and picture leaks that were held ransom by internet hackers. Consumers of this product were alerted of the breach in their information through the app. Although the information was obtained again from the CloudPet company, users are still worried about future breaches in the system and the safety of their children and their information.

Analysis:
The author of this article was written by Selena Larson, a writer for CNN. This article was written on February 27th, 2017 shortly after the hacking of the CloudPet app occurred. My prior knowledge of this topic was of the CloudPet product but not of the system breaches. This surprised me to find out how easy it was for someone to hack information from an app and how many people's information was compromised due to this hacking. The audience for this article was CloudPet users and toy consumers in the U.S. The main idea of this article was the breach in information from users of the CloudPet app and toy. This is significant because it shows consumers and app users that give their information to the create accounts within the app how easy it is for hackers to obtain your account information.
