In a recent news article for CNN explains how this year President Donald Trump will not attend the White Houses Correspondents Dinner. Knowing his history with the media, it is not surprising that he wont attend the dinner. However, the president's attendance is a respected tradition with the intention of cooperation between the govt and media, so his absence will only emphasize the misalignment of the two. I believe because the president is the leader of the American people, it is important for him to develop a healthy relationship with the media, the most effective middle-man to the people. It is also important for the president to be open-minded to a variety of sources, even if they write articles disapproving of his actions, in order to be aware of the perspectives of all Americans, not just his supporters.
